Provided By: SwissBit Retail Price: $249.00 Review Date:11/14/04 Written By: Rusty Newton This is the TwistPro 2GB version from SwissBit. A large capacity Flash Drive with unique Twisting Action. SwissBit also makes the SwissMemory USB Victorinox that I reviewed last month. The TwistPRO is their high-end line of Twist Flash Drives. In The Box:
The TWISTPRO comes in a nice little blister pack, for once a blister pack that is easy to open!
Once you open the blister pack you will see that the package includes: 1 x USB Type A Male to Female Extension Cable 1 x Lanyard for wearing the TwistPro around your neck 1 X TwistPro 2GB Unit It appears that no Instructions are included, kind of odd but its not really hard to figure out. Design & Features: The design of the SwissMemory TwistPro is really what makes it unique. First of all it is built very ruggedly, the outershell and plastic is very thick. Nothing looks easily breakable or flimsy on it.
On the back of the TwistPro SwissBit included a nice BeltPocket clip, something I wish more of the Flash Drives and mini storage devices had! Belt clip, works with the lanyard to keep it from flying out of your pocket.
The best design element on this Flash Drive is the twisting action. Instead of using a snap on cap design like 90% of flash drives have, they decided to make the lid cover the whole device. Its alot quicker to open, you can do it with one hand and best of all you cannot lose the cap because there IS no cap. I can doo thaa twist , ba nah nah nanan nah ...sorry
The twisting really is great, I have lost two caps of my SanDisk Cruzer Mini ( they include three caps because they know you will lose them). Also SwissBit fortunately thought to make the physical design THIN. This way it works in alot of recessed ports and can fit in a USB port where another cable or device is plugged in. Before we talk about the software and benchmarks lets look at the specs. Tech Specs:
Head to the next page and we will look at the software, benchmarks and conclusion.
