Notice the CD-R pictures show different CD-Rs because we were sent several different styles of CD-Rs, theres no reason to show all of them here when you can see them the whole range of them on 5inch's web site. On to the review. Here we have one out of the packaging, Notice the Color Coordination of the TriggerCase with the CD-R.
Design & Features: As you will notice in the above picture and the ones following, the TriggerCases Color matches with the CD-R. All of the TriggerCases will match with the CD-R they come with, it adds a dash of style to the lives of us guys who have a hard time dressing ourselves in the morning.
The printed graphic designs on the CD-Rs are very High Resolution, crisp, detailed and have very vivid colors. Simply sweet to the eyes. Pull the Trigger: Lets take a look at the trigger mechanism implemented into the cd case. Ready to Launch! Im Freeee!!!
This is a ingenious idea and its weird that no one thought of this earlier on in the life of CDs. Basically the concept is you push the trigger which acts like a lever and pushes the CD-R out of the plastic casing. Now there are some good things and bad things about the TriggerCase's Design. The TriggerCases are very thin, which can be a good thing to save space. The only problem if you are holding the TriggerCase by the large flat sides then you are squeezing the Case onto the CD, so when you pop the CD-R out, the Case scratches the CD-R. If you hold the TriggerCase correctly on the edges then it typically will not scratch the CD-R. The whole mechanism makes it very easy and quick to get to your CDs or CD-Rs. At first the CD pops in and out kind of stiffly but once youve used that TriggerCase a little bit then it will sorta shoot out into your hand which is awesome of course. Durability: These cases seem to be much more durable than the flimsy Jewel Cases. Being that they are so compact around the CD it makes them very sturdy, theres really no easy way to crush it or snap it in half. For this test though, we refrained from dipping it in sulfuric acid, cutting it with lasers, circular saws, or applying a tender amount of abrasion via a JackHammer. CD-R Quality: To do a brief simple quality test of the CD-Rs I burned music on several of them, Data on some others then did burned the same files and music on other CD-Rs consisting of Memorex, Sony and some Generic CD-Rs. There was no noticeble difference in quality of sound or in data integrity or speed of burning. They appear to be high quality CD-Rs. Conclusion: This product is a good idea and its about time we replace those ancient jewel cases. The quality of this product is top notch, there does not appear to be any horrible design errors. Appearance and the aesthetic value of the TriggerCase and their Designer CD-Rs are of very good quality. The Prints on the CD-Rs do not scratch easy, High Resolution, Looks great. Durability comes into play also in that the TriggerCase is much more durable than a typical Jewel Case. The only thing that can throw the reign of the TriggerCases off is the tendency to scratch the CDs or CD-Rs when not held right. This can be a bummer for some people who lack proficiency in the art of typical Human Motor Skills. PROS Basic construction and trigger mechanism are quality built. Color coordination and sweet high Res printed designs Easier and Faster to get at your CD Media More durable and less likely to break than a old Jewel Case
CONS - Can scratch your CDs when held the wrong way or if used improperly
